  • Weekly/biweekly calls allow us to pivot where necessary and redirect your strategic path for the best, smoothest outcomes

  • Inevitable and unforeseen speed bumps will happen along the way and in your new locale - I'm there to support you, to feel a sense of certainty and competency in dealing with whatever your face (culture shock, loneliness, foreign language ... you name it!)

  • Working with clients who are leaving the familiarity of home for a new life chapter provides a "thinking and feeling" partner to safely share fears and anxieties, reframe challenges into opportunities, and focus on a powerful plan for success and fulfillment.  It mitigates stress and tension, increases productivity, strengthens mental/emotional health and ensures solid relocations.

Global Mobility FACTS

ENOUGH SUPPORT FOR EMPLOYEES relocating globally?

  • Failure rates for international assignments in upper management are estimated to range from 25% to as much as 50% (Worldwide ERC 2012)

  • The majority of senior managers receive relocation support from their company for housing

  • Support with housing was the most popular option (86%), followed by help with relevant paperwork for their stay (81%)

  • 6/10 senior expat executives were remunerated for their relocation expenses as well

  • fewer than 25% were offered to participate in language classes or intercultural trainings

  • less than 10% were assigned a mentor to help with their transition to a new position

  • Intercultural seminars would lower the risk of misunderstanding within an unfamiliar business culture

SPOUSES

Spouses of top managers are somewhat neglected by employers;

  • among senior executives nearly 40% are in a relationship with someone they met before their relocation who agreed to the move for the executive-partner's sake ...

  • however of this group of managers only 8% of their employers invested support in the job searches of family members

  • only 14% of those whose spouses wanted to take language courses had employers' support

EXECUTIVES

  • only 18% of those interviewed have climbed the corporate ladder to middle management

  • only 6% identify as top managers or senior executives

  • expat executives include only 27% women and 73% men

  • 25% of senior executives are a foreign assignee and sent abroad by their employer

  • 15% of expats find a job on their own; the majority of expats find relocations as an intra-company transfer

  • 1 / 11 top managers was recruited from abroad, either directly or by a foreign company or headhunter

  • 20% senior executives identifies a personal challenge as a key reason to relocate

  • 75% of senior managers agree their career has benefitted from their decision to relocate globally

  • 78% are generally satisfied with their financial situation abroad

  • 67% consider their present income more than enough to cover the local cost of living (in fact, 22% describe it as much more)

  • 53% of those who provided information on their personal finances have an annual household income of more than US$100,000
